Byrna's Fiscal Q3 2026 Earnings Call: CEO Conn Davis Outlines Progress and Future Growth Opportunities

Byrna, a leading provider of less lethal options for personal safety and consumer self-defense, has released its fiscal third quarter 2026 earnings report. During the company's conference call on October 8, 2026, CEO Conn Davis outlined significant progress in building the foundations necessary to support sustainable long-term growth.

Mr. Davis emphasized that while Byrna's results for the quarter remain below previous levels of performance, he believes that many of the initiatives implemented this year are starting to gain traction and reinforce his conviction in the opportunity ahead.

The CEO highlighted three key priorities: improving customer conversion and retail productivity, transforming how Byrna builds demand, and enhancing operational efficiency across the business. During the quarter, encouraging progress was seen across each of these priorities, with direct-to-consumer metrics improving and website sessions averaging approximately 29,000 per day in August, the highest since March this year.

Byrna's social creator ecosystem has also been expanded to more than 50 active creators, helping reach new consumer audiences and driving engagement up 95% across the company's social channels compared to Q1. Mr. Davis expressed enthusiasm about these developments, stating that many of the building blocks established earlier this year are now coming into place.

Operational progress was also reported, with first-pass yield exceeding 89% and approaching the 90% target set for Q4. Gross margins outperformed internal expectations, and inventory began to trend lower. These indicators reinforce Byrna's confidence that the actions taken today will create a stronger platform for future growth.

Despite still facing an uphill climb, Byrna is focused on execution ahead of the holiday season. The company remains realistic about the challenges but believes that the foundation built over the past six months is materially stronger than it was previously.

The CFO, Lori Kearnes, reviewed the company's financial results for the fiscal third quarter ended August 31, 2026. Net revenue for the period was $15.3 million, down approximately 46% from $28.2 million in the prior year period, primarily driven by a decline in e-commerce sales and slower reorder activity from dealers and chain stores.

However, gross profit was $12.2 million or 79% of revenue, compared to $16.9 million or 60% of net revenue in the prior year quarter. Adjusting for a $2.3 million tariff refund, adjusted gross profit was $9.1 million.

Overall, Byrna's Q3 earnings call provided insight into the company's progress and future growth opportunities. While challenges remain, the CEO's optimism about the long-term potential of the business and the steps being taken to address current hurdles will be closely watched by investors.

As the holiday season approaches, Byrna is poised to execute on its refreshed marketing programs, retail initiatives, and operational efficiencies. The company's ability to capitalize on these efforts will be critical in driving growth and reaccelerating revenue expansion.
