GE Aerospace Soars to New Heights: Q2 2026 Earnings Exceed Expectations
GE Aerospace's second quarter earnings have exceeded expectations, with the company reporting a 17% increase in overall orders and a 24% growth in revenue. The strong commercial services segment drove this success, with both segments up at least low double digits.
Larry Culp, Chairman and CEO of GE Aerospace, highlighted the importance of customer satisfaction, saying "Our 57,000 employees remain committed to our purpose, inventing the future of flight, lifting people up, and bringing them home safely." He also acknowledged the tragic incident involving Flight 1879, stating that CFM International is supporting the investigation into the accident.
The company's FLIGHT DECK initiative continues to strengthen its operational capabilities in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The use of FLIGHT DECK has led to significant improvements in production lead times, with a critical component for the F110 engine being reduced by 60% through process consolidation and operator distance reduction. This supported F110 deliveries growing over 50% year-over-year in the second quarter.
In Brazil, GE Aerospace used FLIGHT DECK to reduce CFM56 final assembly lead time by nearly 50%, improving total shop visit turnaround times by about a week since the end of 2025. A recent Kaizen with GKN, a top supplier of fan cases and other key components, led to a 90% improvement in inspection time through the use of detailed visual work instructions, increased capacity, and implemented 3D inspection technology.
The company also highlighted its use of AI as a force multiplier for FLIGHT DECK. Across its turbine airfoils team, GE Aerospace ran several Kaizens to improve the demand signal process, standardizing and reducing demand signals which strengthens supplier confidence. The use of AI automated this process, cutting the number of demand signals in half and reducing processing time by nearly 90% across 190 parts.
These operational improvements have had a significant impact on commercial services revenue, with record internal shop visit output in the second quarter and first half total engine deliveries up 31%, including LEAP engines up 41%. The company has raised its 2026 guidance across the board, reflecting the strength of its first half results and momentum for the remainder of the year.
The success of GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK initiative is a testament to the company's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. With a focus on advancing what matters most to customers, delivering on robust demand, and investing in current and next-gen technologies, GE Aerospace continues to soar to new heights."
