Opera Limited Surpasses Q2 Expectations with Record Revenue and EBITDA Growth

Opera Limited, a leading browser provider, has announced its second quarter 2026 earnings results, exceeding expectations in both revenue and adjusted EBITDA growth. According to the company's CEO, Song Lin, this performance reaffirms Opera's position as an independent and innovative browser provider with a significant user base and advertising reach.

During the Q&A session following the earnings call, Matt Wolfson, Head of Investor Relations, highlighted that the strength in revenue growth was broad-based, driven by acceleration from 23% year-over-year in Q1 to 25% year-over-year in Q2. This increase was fueled by a 27% jump in advertising revenue to $115 million, while carrier revenue grew 21% to $62 million.

Adjusted EBITDA also reached a quarterly record of $42.4 million, representing a margin of 24% and growing at 42% year-over-year. Opera's confidence in this elevated trajectory has led the company to raise full-year guidance beyond Q2 overperformance, according to CFO Frode Jacobsen.

The growth was driven by e-commerce, with advertising revenue from this sector increasing significantly. To build on this momentum, Opera is set to introduce additional high-intent formats, including AI-supported price comparisons designed to help shoppers evaluate products and merchants reach users closer to a purchase decision.

Operas in-house commerce platform already matches users with the best deals across 100 merchants with over 100 million products. Within travel, another high-potential vertical for Opera, the company has started initial campaigns beyond its own user base, working with top online travel agencies and delivering measurable outcomes.

The combined platform for first and third-party inventory allows Opera to inform and allocate campaigns with a solid understanding of relevant audiences. In fact, Opera's total addressable audience now exceeds 700 million users, up from the previously announced 500 million just six months ago.

This growth underscores Opera's ability to facilitate choice for end-users and provide access to a vast user base for partners in a rapidly evolving ecosystem. By continuing to innovate and expand its capabilities, Opera is well-positioned for continued success in the future.

As the browser becomes increasingly valuable due to AI-driven changes in online behavior, Opera is capitalizing on this trend by increasing engagement and monetization opportunities every month. This focus on providing value to both users and partners has laid a solid foundation for Opera's long-term trajectory.
