State Street Corporation Reports Strong Q2 2026 Results, Sets Sights on Medium-Term Financial Growth
State Street Corporation, a leading financial services company, has reported strong second-quarter 2026 results, with net earnings per share (EPS) reaching $365, a significant increase from $217 in the same quarter last year. This growth marks the company's tenth consecutive quarter of positive operating leverage, excluding notable items.
According to Ron O'Hanley, CEO of State Street Corporation, the strong Q2 performance reflects the durability of the company's franchise and sustained progress in financial performance. The results were driven by record quarterly fee revenue, including record servicing, management, and FX trading revenues, together with record net interest income (NII), which contributed to a 17% year-over-year increase in total quarterly revenue.
"Today, we'll focus on two key topics," said Ron O'Hanley. "First, we'll review our strong second quarter performance, the momentum we continue to build across the franchise, and our improving outlook for 2026. We'll then discuss our new medium-term financial targets, which we released this morning."
State Street's Q2 results also highlight significant progress in advancing its strategic agenda. The company continues to innovate within investment services, with a focus on digital assets. For example, the company has made strong progress in developing its digital asset platform, which will enable clients to rapidly bridge from traditional to digital finance.
"Our digital asset platform is always-on financial infrastructure that will enable clients to rapidly bridge from traditional to digital finance," said Ron O'Hanley. "We continue to make strong progress in advancing this strategy."
In Q2, State Street announced its intention to deliver a tokenized fund servicing capability by year-end, subject to regulatory approval. A leading European asset manager has selected State Street to serve as the custodian and administrator for tokenized money market funds expected to launch later this year.
"Importantly, State Street Investment Management is also expected to be an early adopter of this offering," said Ron O'Hanley. "This underscores the strength of our One State Street approach."
State Street's new medium-term financial targets aim to drive sustained growth, expand margins and returns, and create long-term value for clients and shareholders. The company has outlined strategic pillars that will drive this next phase of growth, including further strengthening its compelling value proposition and competitive position.
