Unifi's Q4 2026 Earnings Call: A Pivot Point for Sustainable Growth

Good morning and thank you for attending Unifi's fourth quarter fiscal 2026 earnings conference call. This pivotal moment marks the culmination of an 18-month transformation effort aimed at positioning the company for sustainable growth in the long term.

According to Al Carey, Executive Chairman, the three-pronged approach included reducing costs significantly, improving cash management and lowering debt, and ramping up revenue growth. The first step, which has now been completed, entailed closing the Madison facility, resizing labor forces, optimizing operations, and streamlining the product portfolio by removing unprofitable items.

"We began this effort about 18 months ago," Carey stated, "and I think you will see in our Q4 earnings that we are beginning to show some of the improvement." He emphasized that all steps have been taken to improve cash management and lower debt, with dramatically reduced inventories over the last 18 months.

The second step involved closing on a purchase agreement signed this week for property and excess assets for $60 million. Once concluded, it will have a significant impact on net debt and the balance sheet. As Carey noted, "this deal will be dramatic in its impact."

However, the third and final step involves ramping up revenue growth, an area where the company faces stiff competition. Despite industry-wide macro issues such as oil prices, shifting tariff rates, and inflation, Unifi has taken charge of its own revenue growth plan. The company is seeing improved demand for innovations in Central America and overall U.S., with most of this expected to occur by mid-year.

"We are at a pivot point for our company right now," Carey said. "We are not celebrating, we are not even close to finishing our work. But I will tell you that it is all about revenue right now, and we are all over it, and you will see that improve."

Unifi's CEO, Eddie Ingle, added that the company closed out fiscal 2026 on a strong note with 4% top-line growth and another quarter of improving profitability and cash generation. This reflects successful execution of initiatives to realign the cost structure, optimize operations, and enhance margin performance through improved portfolio management.

Ingle also highlighted the importance of supporting customers with differentiated solutions and driving sustainable growth over the long term. The company's recent agreement for the sale of non-strategic assets in the U.S. is expected to have no impact on its ability to service customers while allowing it to retire a material portion of outstanding debt.
