Acuity Brands Shines Bright in Q1 2025: Sales Growth, Acquisition, and Innovative Lighting Solutions

The fiscal 2025 first quarter performance of Acuity Brands has been solid, with the company delivering sales growth, expanding its adjusted operating profit and adjusted operating profit margin, and increasing its adjusted diluted earnings per share. Neil Ashe, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, was pleased to report on the company's progress during a recent conference call.

One of the key highlights from the quarter was the successful acquisition of QSC, which was closed last week. This strategic move is expected to bring significant benefits to Acuity Brands, including expanded capabilities and increased market presence. "We're pleased to welcome QSC to Acuity," Ashe said. "This acquisition is a testament to our commitment to growth and innovation."

Acuity Brands Lighting continues to perform well, with sales growth in the first quarter. The company's strategy to increase product vitality, elevate service levels, use technology to improve and differentiate both its products and operations, and drive productivity has been instrumental in achieving this success.

The company's differentiated product portfolios, including Contractor Select, Design Select, and made-to-order solutions, have enabled it to drive growth and productivity for itself and its partners. With Contractor Select, Acuity Brands is driving growth and productivity for electrical distributors by lowering their cost of doing business and empowering them to carry less inventory.

In the first quarter, two new products were launched in Contractor Select: TruWrap and the REBL Round High Bay. Both feature switchable technology and offer multiple functionality, allowing distributors to carry fewer SKUs while providing more options for customers. TruWrap enhances traditional wrap lighting by offering even illumination for spaces with limited natural light options, while the REBL Round High Bay delivers uniform illumination for large open spaces.

Acuity Brands' innovations have been recognized globally, with many of its lighting solutions being selected for prestigious awards. The company's Mochi by Cyclone, Hydrel FLAME, and several Eureka products were winners in the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN Awards, while its Luminis Syrios Pro was recognized by the Architect's Newspaper Best of Product Awards.

Intelligent Spaces also delivered a strong quarter of sales growth and margin performance. The company's mission is to make spaces smarter, safer, and greener through a strategy of connecting the edge with the cloud using disruptive technologies that leverage data interoperability.

"We're pleased with our Q1 performance," Ashe said. "Our strategies are delivering results, and we're confident in our ability to drive growth and innovation in the years ahead."

Overall, Acuity Brands has demonstrated a strong start to fiscal 2025, with impressive sales growth, strategic acquisitions, and innovative lighting solutions that have won global recognition.
