Acuity Revolutionizes Lighting and Space Solutions in Q2 2025

Acuity, a leading provider of lighting solutions and intelligent space technologies, has reported impressive results for its second quarter of fiscal 2025. The company's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Neil Ashe, highlighted the key achievements during an earnings call on April 3, 2025.

Ashe emphasized that Acuity delivered steady performance in Q2 2025, with growth in net sales, expanded adjusted operating profit, and increased adjusted diluted earnings per share. The company's strategic progress and fiscal second quarter performance were discussed during the call.

The renaming of the company from Acuity Brands to simply Acuity marks an exciting step in its evolution, according to Ashe. This change builds on the legacy of the past while representing the scalability of the future. Acuity is now positioned for long-term growth and creating stakeholder value, as well as compounding shareholder wealth.

Within its Lighting segment, also known as Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL), the company has focused on expanding its electronics portfolio. This portfolio plays a fundamental role in the strategy of increasing product vitality, elevating service levels using technology to improve and differentiate both products and business operations, and driving productivity for the company and its partners.

Acuity has invested significantly in its driver portfolio to control technology within luminaires and developed a market-leading lighting controls platform that includes sensors, controls, and software. Through Optotronics, the company produces most of the drivers used in its luminaires, allowing it to improve product vitality and drive productivity throughout its portfolio.

The nLight and sensor switch lighting controls platform offers stand-alone and embedded controls, which can be cloud-enabled. This comprehensive offering extends from the drivers that power luminaires to sensors, controls, and software that control light in a space and connect seamlessly with the cloud through Acuity's Atrius data app.

An example of this integration was showcased during the earnings call, where Ashe discussed the expansion of its GOTHAM IVO products as part of the Design Select portfolio. The company produces all the drivers for the entire GOTHAM IVO product line and can sell each product embedded with nLight controls. These innovative luminaires, when combined with the nLight platform, optimize space for color and light distribution, resulting in an optimized user experience with elevated aesthetics.

Acuity's products have continued to receive industry recognition for their innovation and design excellence. During Q2 2025, the company won 14 2024 product innovation awards from Architectural Products Magazine, as well as 7 design excellence awards for its products in the Lighting Design Awards.

In addition, Acuity Intelligence Spaces (AIS) delivered a strong quarter of sales growth and margin performance. The company welcomed QSC to its portfolio, further advancing its mission to make spaces smarter, safer, and greener through the strategy of connecting the edge with the cloud using disruptive technologies.
