Adtalem Global Education Achieves Record-Breaking Growth Amidst Healthcare Workforce Crisis

Adtalem Global Education, a leading provider of healthcare education, has achieved record-breaking growth in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025. The company's commitment to preparing the next generation of clinicians is paying off, with revenue growing by 14% to $448 million.

Total enrollment was up 11.6% year-over-year, improving for the 11th consecutive quarter. Adtalem now serves over 91,000 students, and its adjusted EBITDA margin expanded by 440 basis points, driving a 47% increase in adjusted earnings per share to $1.81 per share.

"These aren't just numbers," said Stephen Beard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Adtalem Global Education. "They represent real impact. Every percentage point of growth means more nurses, doctors, social workers and mental health professionals entering communities where they're desperately needed."

Adtalem's Chamberlain University has seen significant growth, with total enrollment up 11.5% to a record level. The BSN online program offered in 36 states now has 44 clinical hub locations in metropolitan areas, with a goal of more than 65 hubs by the end of fiscal year 2026.

Walden University has also driven growth, with enrollment up 13.2%. The company's new "Get to W" campaign is resonating since its launch in early December, and encouraging student engagement is being seen. Adtalem is expanding access through innovative offerings like the "Believe and Achieve Scholarship," which provides financial clarity and rewards persistence.

Adtalem's impact in mental health is particularly striking. Chamberlain and Walden together graduated more psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners in 2023 than all other top 20 programs combined. The company now has over 9,600 aspiring mental health nurse practitioners in its programs.

In the medical and veterinary segment, January new enrollment demand was up year-over-year, with encouraging signs that Adtalem's initiatives are working. The company's clinical return home offering with hospital partners and USMLE student prep efforts are positioning it for enrollment growth in the near term.

Adtalem is also leading the integration of AI and healthcare education. Its partnership with Hippocratic AI is already producing clinicians skilled in practical AI applications, and two Chamberlain leaders are pioneering AI tools for diabetes care and infant safety that can make a real difference in patient care.
