B. Riley Financial Delivers Strong Q2 2026 Results, Demonstrating Underlying Earnings Power

In a conference call on August 6th, B. Riley Financial reported its second quarter (Q2) 2026 earnings, highlighting a strong performance that demonstrates the company's underlying earnings power.

The company announced net income available to common shareholders of $18.5 million and delivered $66 million in operating adjusted EBITDA, marking its best core operating quarter in nearly three years. Over the trailing 12 months, B. Riley Financial generated net income attributable to common shareholders of $404 million and operating adjusted EBITDA of $182 million.

Bryant Riley, Chairman, Founder, and Co-CEO, attributed the company's success to its straightforward execution strategy for B. Riley Securities and B. Riley Wealth, which involves deepening client relationships and extending their reach. The company achieved this by adding five senior producers, including welcoming back alumni from B. Riley Securities, during the quarter.

Additionally, B. Riley Financial successfully reactivated several key institutional accounts that had been inactive over the past year, with positive engagement continuing into July. This, combined with higher secondary commission revenues, highlights the company's continued progress in further strengthening its franchise.

In investment banking, favorable markets drove robust overall deal activity, with the company participating in transactions representing $21 billion in aggregate deal value. Although larger syndicates in a strong market naturally lower their average economic share per deal, the sheer volume of their participation demonstrates their proven execution capabilities and importance to issuers.

Within that broader deal participation, B. Riley Financial supported combined equity and debt issuances totaling $8.5 billion and served as an agent on new ATM filings representing over $12 billion in aggregate value. The company's restructuring practice continues to find meaningful opportunities in this environment.

Bryant Riley emphasized the importance of a value ethos that permeates every part of B. Riley Financial, particularly in its merchant banking approach. This involves providing dedicated capital and advice to underserved markets, such as small and mid-cap companies. The company's willingness to actively deploy their balance sheet to solve complex client needs sets them apart from other firms.

With a substantial pipeline of actionable opportunities and the capital base and partnerships to support clients as those opportunities develop, B. Riley Financial remains focused on execution and disciplined capital allocation. As they look ahead, they believe they have the optionality and discipline to maximize value and will work diligently to execute on all fronts.
