CBAK Energy Technology Sees Explosive Growth in Q4 2025 as Customers Flock to New, High-Performance Battery Cells

CBAK Energy Technology has reported a dramatic surge in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2025, with consolidated net revenue increasing by 131.80% year over year to $58.80 million.

The company's Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Zhiguang Hu, attributed this growth to a comprehensive structural upgrade of their product portfolio, aggressive capacity expansion, and a deliberate pivot towards next-generation form factors.

Specifically, CBAK Energy saw strong demand for their newly introduced Model 40135 cells, with the market reception being "truly unprecedented." The company successfully commissioned a new production line with 2.3 GWh capacity at the end of 2025, and current sales far exceed available supply.

In addition to this growth, CBAK Energy also expanded their Nanjing facility to alleviate severe supply shortages for their Model 32140 cells, adding 2 new production lines with a total capacity of 3.0 GWh by the end of 2025. These two new high-speed lines are expected to reach full capacity by early 2027.

While this initial phase carries higher unit costs that have temporarily affected gross margin and short-term profitability, CBAK Energy views this as a necessary and highly strategic investment. The company anticipates a dramatic and sustained resurgence in top-line revenue once customers complete their transition to the Model 40135 and the Nanjing facility reaches full capacity.

The company's wholly owned subsidiary, Nanjing CBAK, has also initiated dedicated battery pack integration operations, starting in 2025. This move enables CBAK Energy to bypass intermediate integrators and serve end-users directly. Currently, these manufactured pack units are predominantly engineered for the light electric vehicle battery swapping infrastructure throughout the African market.

Mr. Hu expressed excitement about this strategic partnership with Spiro, one of Africa's largest two-wheeler battery swapping enterprises, which has rapidly scaled to become one of CBAK Energy's top five customers. He noted that their advanced battery cell technology is providing essential momentum for African new energy transition.

Overall, CBAK Energy Technology's performance in Q4 2025 highlights the company's strategic focus on next-generation form factors and its ability to drive growth through innovation and expansion.
