January 29, 2025 - San Francisco, CA - Dolby Laboratories, the renowned leader in audio and visual technologies, has kicked off its fiscal year 2025 on a high note. The company's recent conference call, hosted by Vice President Peter Goldmacher, revealed impressive first quarter results that have set the tone for a promising year ahead.

According to CEO Kevin Yeaman, both licensing revenue and total revenue for the quarter came in towards the high end of the range provided on their last earnings call. Non-GAAP earnings also surpassed expectations, coming in above the high end of the forecasted range. This strong start to the year has instilled confidence in the company's ability to meet its annual financial guidance.

The company's foundational revenues are expected to remain relatively flat for the full year, while Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and imaging patents are poised to experience growth of approximately 15%. Notably, Dolby's creative community continues to demonstrate robust support for these technologies. The 2025 Grammy nominees for Best New Artist are all available in Dolby Atmos, and seven out of eight nominees for Record of the Year and Album of the Year are also available in this immersive audio format.

In addition to music, Dolby's presence is felt across various platforms, including movies, TV shows, live sports, and user-generated content. The company's innovative technologies have been integrated into a wide range of products, from cars to soundbars, as evident at the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
