Eversource Energy Shines in Q2 2026: Strong Progress on Operational Performance and Strategic Initiatives

The second quarter of 2026 has been a significant milestone for Eversource Energy, as the company delivers strong operational performance and makes notable progress on its strategic initiatives. In a recent conference call, Joe Nolan, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the company's achievements during this period.

During the call, it was noted that the company's team has been focused on executing the priorities established over the past year, including completing the sale of Aquarion, delivering strong operational performance, and strengthening the balance sheet. As a result, Eversource Energy has delivered second-quarter recurring earnings per share of $0.87, in line with expectations, and reaffirmed its long-term EPS growth guidance of 5-7%.

The company has also made significant progress on key initiatives that will deliver higher growth for the business and further de-risk the business profile. The recent sale of Aquarion resulted in net proceeds of $1.7 billion, a testament to Eversource Energy's strategic position as a pure play regulated pipes and wires utility.

The Revolution Wind project continues to progress through advanced stages of construction and commissioning. While the company recognized an after-tax charge of $164 million in the second quarter due to revised cost projections, this investment is expected to contribute positively to the company's future earnings. The commercial operation date for the project is still on track to be reached later this year.

Eversource Energy has also taken actions to address the FERC ROE decision, appealing to both FERC and the D.C. Court of Appeals. While a decision from FERC is expected by November 30th, one thing is certain: the New England region needs more transmission investment, and utilities require a predictable regulatory environment to attract long-term capital for these investments.

The company's investments in transmission have delivered billions of dollars in savings for customers over the years, eliminating significant congestion costs while making the grid more resilient. Eversource Energy continues to position itself well to fund critical infrastructure investments while preserving financial flexibility needed to support long-term growth.
