Intrusion Inc.'s Fiscal Year 2025: A Year of Significant Milestones and Uncertainty
Intrusion Inc., a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, wrapped up its fiscal year 2025 with a mix of notable accomplishments and unexpected challenges. During the company's fourth quarter and full-year earnings conference call on March 24th, President and CEO Tony Scott and CFO Kimberly Pinson provided insight into the company's performance and outlook for the future.
Scott highlighted several significant product milestones reached by the company in 2025. These included the elimination of outstanding debt through the redemption of Series A Preferred Stock at the beginning of the year, the production rollout of its critical infrastructure solution to safeguard essential assets such as water, power, and telecom facilities mid-year, and the expansion of access to its Shield Cloud solution on the AWS Marketplace in the third and fourth quarters.
Additionally, Intrusion Inc. announced a partnership with PortNexus to provide secure network protection for their MyFlare Alert safety technology being deployed at schools in several states. This was accompanied by the launch of the P.O.S.S.E. program, which will give sheriffs and other law enforcement agencies critical network protection for their public safety networks.
However, the company also faced unexpected challenges, particularly in its fourth quarter. Revenues decreased by 12% compared to the prior year period due to a delayed timing of an expected contract extension for its critical infrastructure technology with the U.S. Department of War. The cost to providing these services is included in operating expenses but will show up in later periods when the contract is extended.
Scott noted that the delay was influenced by operational administrative constraints associated with the U.S. government shutdown and the ongoing war in Iran, which have limited agencies' ability to initiate and process contract actions during this period. Despite being disappointed by this delay, the company remains optimistic that it will be able to recognize revenue during the first half of 2026 once procurement activity normalizes.
The company continues to support and enhance its solution provided for the U.S. Department of War, aiming for further expansion in other regions next year. It is proud of its partnership with the government department and acknowledges the critical role it plays in protecting national security through advanced cyber capabilities.
