Ooma Kicks Off Fiscal Year 2027 with Strong Q1 Financial Results

Welcome to Ooma's first quarter fiscal year 2027 earnings call, where the company has reported strong financial results that have exceeded expectations. In a statement, Eric Stang, CEO of Ooma, said, "We're pleased to report good progress on our key initiatives for this year, and I look forward to reviewing them with you today."

According to the Q1 2027 financial results conference call transcript, Ooma has exceeded expectations with revenue growing 25% year-over-year to $81.1 million. Non-GAAP net income has grown 73% year-over-year to $9.7 million, and adjusted EBITDA has grown 78% year-over-year to $11.8 million.

One of the key drivers of Ooma's stronger business services growth was AirDial, which saw an 80% increase in services revenue versus a year ago. This is not surprising given the accelerating market opportunity for POTS replacement as more companies incur higher POTS charges or have their lines turned off by AT&T or others.

On the residential side of Ooma's business, the company has reported growth in its base of residential users for the first time in many quarters. This is a welcome development, especially considering that residential users are an important segment of Ooma's customer base.

Eric Stang highlighted that subscription and services revenue from business customers grew 38% year-over-year, reaching 69% of total subscription and services revenue. Excluding the impact of two acquisitions made late last year, Ooma stepped up its organic growth rate of business subscription and services revenue by a couple of percentage points to 9% year-over-year.

The strong financial results reported by Ooma are a testament to the company's commitment to expanding AirDial and its focus on delivering innovative communication solutions. With a good start to fiscal year 2027, Ooma is well-positioned for growth and success in the quarters ahead.
