Origin Agritech Surges Forward: A Midpoint Mark of Industrial Leadership

Origin Agritech, a leading player in the agricultural sector, marked a significant milestone with its Q2 2026 results, reflecting a midpoint shift towards industrial leadership as part of its three-stage strategic plan. CEO Weibin Yan highlighted the company's tangible progress across various operational areas, paving the way for commercial and scientific outcomes.

In a recent conference call, Mr. Yan emphasized that the six months ended March 31, 2026, represented the midpoint of the recovery phase, which began in November 2024. He underscored the importance of rebuilding the company's research capabilities, production facilities, and sales infrastructure as a foundation for future growth. This period marked the beginning of converting this rebuilt foundation into measurable commercial and scientific outcomes.

One notable achievement was the expansion of breeding approaches and test scales, which generated over 30,000 new test cross combinations during the 2025 winter South China breeding work. The company's precision smart plant type improvements using its Hi3 platform and licensed genes from China Agricultural University showcased significant advancements in meeting the industry's higher density trend.

The sales team was also rebuilt with a total of 36 professionals deployed across the country, including a re-entry into North East China. A variety showcase and technology seminar held in Changchun drew over 200 dealers and partners, demonstrating the company's renewed presence in this critical region.

"Either be the first or be unique" is Origin Agritech's philosophy when it comes to research and development, as emphasized by Mr. Yan during a recent conference call. This approach has yielded impressive results, solidifying the company's position in the market.

Dr. Zheng James Chen, Chief Financial Officer, is set to walk through the financial implications of these operational advancements during the conference call, providing investors and stakeholders with valuable insights into the company's growth trajectory.

Origin Agritech's Q2 2026 results serve as a testament to its commitment to industrial leadership, marking a significant milestone in its three-stage strategic plan. With tangible progress in breeding approaches, sales infrastructure, and commercialization, the company is well-positioned for future success.
