Royal Caribbean Group Soars to Record-Breaking Quarter Amidst Global Uncertainty

The Royal Caribbean Group has made a remarkable start to 2025, delivering its best first quarter results in company history and exceeding expectations. In a conference call on April 2nd, the group's leadership shared their excitement about the strong performance, despite acknowledging heightened uncertainty in the global macro landscape.

According to Jason Liberty, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Caribbean Group, the company delivered over 2 million unforgettable vacations during the first quarter, achieving exceptional guest satisfaction scores. WAVE season, a critical period for the industry, was also the best in the company's history, with bookings outpacing last year across all products.

"Consumers continue to use our vacations because we consistently deliver the best experiences and provide value to our guests," said Liberty, highlighting the group's commitment to delivering world-class experiences. He emphasized that while the company is not immune to macro volatility, research shows that consumers are still prioritizing experiences and seeking value.

The group's financial performance was equally impressive, with adjusted earnings per share of $2.71 in the first quarter, beating guidance by $0.23. Yields grew 5.6%, and close-in bookings across all itineraries were better than expected.

"We are very pleased with our first-quarter results, which exceeded our expectations," said Liberty. "Our strong financial position, investment-grade balance sheet, and robust liquidity put us in a great place to navigate the current environment."

Royal Caribbean Group's leadership expressed confidence in their growth strategy, aiming to win a greater share of the growing $2 trillion vacation market. The company continues to invest in its future fleet, private destination portfolio, and guest experience.

"We are focused on what we can control: delivering the best vacation experiences for our guests, optimizing revenue, managing costs, and executing on our long-term strategies," said Liberty, emphasizing the group's commitment to responsible growth.

With a strong start to 2025 under its belt, Royal Caribbean Group is poised to continue its success, driven by its dedication to delivering exceptional vacation experiences and its ability to navigate the challenges of the global macro landscape."
