Samsara Hits Stride with $1.54 Billion ARR, Safety Solutions Shine

Sanjit Biswas, CEO of Samsara, proudly declared during the company's Q1 2026 earnings call that the firm had surpassed $1.5 billion in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), exceeding expectations.
The strong performance marked a 31% year-over-year growth rate when adjusted for constant currency, with customers paying more than $100,000 per year seeing their numbers swell by 35%, up from 27% over the same period last year. This growth was driven by Samsara's efficient and durable platform.
The company partnered with some of the largest organizations in physical operations during Q1, including 7-Eleven, the world's biggest convenience store chain; the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, second-largest in the United States; and a major county with over 10 million residents. Samsara is proud to collaborate with these industry leaders, supporting their efforts to operate more efficiently.
A key takeaway from Q1 was the importance of safety for customers, who are seeking technology-driven solutions to reduce accidents, lower insurance premiums, and improve asset utilization. In this regard, Samsara's AI-powered safety tools have proven invaluable.
According to Sanjit Biswas, 'Our customers have large complex operations. They rely on commercial vehicles to move goods and services to power infrastructure.' As a result of these activities, over half a million accidents occur each year in the United States alone, resulting in injuries, reputational risks, and expensive insurance payouts.
Recognizing this challenge, Samsara conducted a survey among 1,500 commercial drivers from diverse industries across seven countries. The data revealed alarming statistics: 79% had experienced near-misses while driving distracted, with 67% suffering drowsiness on the road. The overwhelming majority of respondents - 95% - agreed that coaching positively impacts habits on the road.
To combat these risks at scale, Samsara has developed AI-powered safety solutions to identify potential issues and coach drivers accordingly. The platform now features comprehensive alerts covering various concerns like collision risk, traffic violations, policy breaches, harsh driving, driver fatigue, speeding, and distracted driving incidents.
Recent additions include an intelligent safety inbox and AI-driven insights that provide a smarter approach to identifying risks and coaching drivers based on patterns rather than just past incidents. In response to high turnover rates and driver shortages, Samsara also launched new positive recognition tools within the platform, such as streaks and milestones, personalized kudos, and shared visibility.
