Simpson Manufacturing Co., Inc. Delivers Strong First Quarter 2026 Performance Despite Market Challenges
Simpson Manufacturing Co., Inc., a leading global manufacturer of concrete mason and shoring products, delivered strong financial results for its first quarter 2026, despite ongoing market challenges.
According to the company's Q1 2026 earnings conference call transcript reported on April 27th, Simpson's net sales reached $588 million, marking a 9.1% increase from the prior year quarter. This growth was primarily driven by the company's 2025 pricing actions, which contributed approximately 6%, and foreign exchange of about 3%. These gains were partially offset by a decline in volume due to softer housing start activity during the quarter.
In North America, net sales totaled $461.9 million, up 9.8% from the prior year quarter, with a notable $31 million benefit from pricing actions. The company's performance remained mixed across market segments and geographies, consistent with broader construction trends.
Michael Olosky, Simpson's President and Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the importance of the company's values-based culture in delivering strong financial performance despite continued market challenges. "We are making meaningful progress on our ambitions," he said, emphasizing the organization's focus on being the partner of choice for customers, innovation leader in its markets, and strengthening its culture.
President Olosky also took a moment to recognize several long-serving employees who embody the company's values and culture. Among them were Cheryl Wyatt, Plant Director for the Southeast operations, celebrating 42 years with Simpson; Cyndi Chandler, who leads the company's business in the United Kingdom and has spent 41 years with Simpson; and brothers Genaro and John Sid from the Southwest operations, each with over four decades of service.
These employee recognitions underscored the significance of continuity and dedication within the organization. "A defining hallmark of our values-based culture is a depth of experience and long-term commitment across our organization," said President Olosky. As Simpson celebrates its 70th year as a company, this continuity reflects a culture that has allowed it to perform, adapt, and grow through many different construction cycles.
