Weyerhaeuser Logs Strong First Quarter 2026 Earnings with 120% Adjusted EBITDA Growth

Weyerhaeuser, a leading forest products company, has reported solid first quarter 2026 earnings with significant growth in adjusted EBITDA.

The company's net sales for the period stood at $1.7 billion, while GAAP earnings came in at $156 million or $0.22 per diluted share. Adjusted earnings excluding special items were $77 million or $0.11 per diluted share. Notably, adjusted EBITDA surged by 120% to reach $308 million compared to the fourth quarter.

"These are solid results," said Devin Stockfish, Chief Executive Officer of Weyerhaeuser. "I'd like to thank our teams for their continued focus and operational performance. Through their efforts, adjusted EBITDA improved across each of our business segments compared to the prior quarter, a notable achievement against a backdrop of elevated macroeconomic uncertainty."

One of the key drivers of Weyerhaeuser's strong first quarter performance was its Timberlands segment, which contributed $57 million to earnings and saw a 5% increase in adjusted EBITDA to reach $120 million. This growth was largely driven by higher sales volumes and seasonally lower costs in the Western domestic market.

Andy Taylor, Vice President of Investor Relations, highlighted that the company had completed the divestiture of non-core timberlands in Virginia for $192 million in February. Additionally, Weyerhaeuser received $22 million in proceeds following the transfer of its timber licenses in British Columbia to the buyer of its Princeton mill.

Weyerhaeuser has also been making strides in its Wood Products growth strategy. The company recently previewed two new products, AeroStrand and ProPanel, at the International Builders' Show in February, which are expected to meet the evolving needs of customers. Feedback on these products has been overwhelmingly positive.

The company has also expanded its distribution footprint with the opening of a new location in Billings, Montana, and announcing a new facility in Gallatin, Tennessee. This expansion supports Weyerhaeuser's strategy for continued growth through 2030.
