ONEOK's Strong Q2 Performance Sets Stage for Continued Growth
ONEOK, a leading midstream energy company, has reported strong second quarter results, exceeding expectations and reaffirming its commitment to delivering long-term value to shareholders.
In a conference call on August 4, 2026, Pierce Norton, President and Chief Executive Officer of ONEOK, highlighted the company's impressive performance in Q2, driven by record NGL throughput volumes, strong refined products demand, and continued volume growth across its systems. The quarter saw ONEOK achieve record levels of connectivity between key supply basins and domestic and international demand across natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, and refined products.
One of the key differentiators for ONEOK is its integrated platform, which enables the company to create value across multiple demand drivers. This unique positioning allows ONEOK to capitalize on growth opportunities in various commodity and regional markets, a factor that contributes to its confidence in delivering mid-to-high single-digit adjusted EBITDA growth over the next five to seven years.
The company's recently completed and soon-to-be-completed projects are driving structural growth across key segments of its business. These include Permian Basin processing capacity, Powder River processing capacity, Midcontinent fractionation capacity, refined products expansions, natural gas transportation and storage capacity, and LPG exports. Operating leverage is also available across ONEOK's assets, enabling the company to optimize existing infrastructure without requiring significant capital investment.
ONEOK's long-term strategy remains grounded in operational excellence, financial discipline, and a value-driven approach to capital allocation. This approach has been instrumental in delivering strong results for the company, which is reflected in its updated 2026 financial guidance. The company now expects a 2026 net income midpoint of $3.6 billion, a diluted earnings per share midpoint of $5.68, and an adjusted EBITDA midpoint of $8.35 billion.
The segment-level performance was also highlighted, with natural gas pipelines and refined products continuing to perform towards the upper end of their adjusted EBITDA ranges provided in the original guidance. Natural gas liquids and gathering and processing remain well-positioned for the balance of the year, driven by organic volume growth, EBITDA from recently completed projects, and attractive hedging and commercial opportunities.
ONEOK's Chief Financial Officer, Walt Hulse, noted that the company's 2026 capital expenditure guidance remains unchanged at $2 billion. This investment will continue to support the company's growth plans and further enhance its integrated platform.
The conference call provided valuable insights into ONEOK's performance and outlook for the remainder of the year and beyond. The company's commitment to delivering long-term value to shareholders, combined with its strong operational and financial performance, makes it an attractive investment opportunity in the midstream energy sector.
