OSI Systems Inc. Delivers Record-Breaking Q4 Performance Amidst Global Headwinds
OSI Systems Inc., a leading provider of electronic systems and components for various industries, has reported a stellar performance in its fourth quarter (Q4) 2026 results. Despite facing challenges related to the Middle East conflicts, the company's resilience and adaptability shone through in its impressive financial and operational achievements.
According to Alan Edrick, Chief Financial Officer, OSI Systems finished Q4 with record-breaking operating cash flow of $182 million, a 17% increase in non-GAAP earnings per share to a record $3.78, and an exceptional cash generation that drove strong profitability and adjusted operating margin expansion.
The company's Security division faced revenue headwinds due to delays caused by conflict-related constraints in the Middle East, resulting in approximately $50 million of planned deliveries being deferred beyond its fiscal year-end on June 30th. However, this setback did not deter OSI Systems from delivering an outstanding performance across all three divisions - Optoelectronics and Healthcare.
Ajay Mehra, President and CEO, highlighted the company's ability to adapt and thrive in a challenging environment, saying, "We are proud of how our team has performed across the portfolio, delivering solid bookings that translated into a record backlog of approximately $1.9 billion." This strong backlog provides OSI Systems with good visibility as it enters fiscal 2027.
OSI Systems' commitment to returning capital to shareholders is evident in its share repurchase program. During Q4, the company repurchased approximately 565,000 shares at an average price of about $219 per share for a total of $123.6 million. The board has also authorized an additional 1 million shares, leaving around 1.1 million shares available under the stock buyback program.
With its record annual revenues of $1.79 billion and record Q4 non-GAAP earnings per share, OSI Systems has solidified its position as a leading player in the industry. Despite facing global headwinds, the company's resilience, adaptability, and commitment to shareholder value make it an attractive investment opportunity.
