Rithm Property Trust Powers Ahead with Strong Q2 Earnings and Ambitious Growth Plans

Rithm Property Trust has reported a solid second quarter 2026 earnings call, showcasing the company's significant transformation since taking over management of the contract formerly known as Great Ajax. The company's Deputy General Counsel, Emma Bolla, welcomed attendees to the call, which was joined by Chief Executive Officer Michael Nierenberg and Chief Financial Officer Nick Santoro.

Throughout the call, the team highlighted the company's impressive progress in improving liquidity, cleaning up its balance sheet, and growing earnings. Rithm Property Trust has successfully transformed from a loss-making entity to one that is now breakeven. The company's focus on growth and profitability was further emphasized by Michael Nierenberg, who noted that they will need to raise capital to achieve their goals.

One of the notable initiatives undertaken by the company in Q2 was investing in multifamily transitional loans originated by its affiliate, Genesis Capital. These high-coupon, short-duration senior loans have been a key focus area for Rithm Property Trust and are expected to drive growth and earnings for the company. With Genesis Capital's world-class origination business supplying loans to third-party funds, SMAs, and the Rithm balance sheet, the company has established itself as a major player in the residential and multifamily transition loan market.

Additionally, Michael Nierenberg discussed the company's plans for raising capital to fuel growth. Although they attempted to raise equity in the public markets, they decided to pull the offering due to current stock performance and hedge fund activity. If unable to secure capital through traditional means, Rithm Property Trust will explore alternative avenues, including buying back equity, M&A, or tendering for shares of the underlying company.

The company's Chief Executive Officer also drew attention to its clean balance sheet, low legacy commercial real estate exposure, and high dividend yield, which stands at 10%. This makes Rithm Property Trust an attractive investment opportunity, differentiated from its peers in the commercial real estate space.

As Rithm Property Trust continues on its ambitious growth path, investors are eagerly watching to see how the company will execute its plans. With a seasoned team and access to permanent capital of $9 billion and over $100 billion in assets under management, there is optimism that the company will deliver strong returns for shareholders.
