Snap Inc. Powers Ahead: Q2 2026 Highlights Strong Revenue Growth, Improved Engagement, and a Bright Future in AI-Enabled Operating Model
Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, has reported a robust second quarter 2026 performance, with significant revenue growth, improved engagement, and a bright future outlook driven by its AI-enabled operating model.
According to Evan Spiegel, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Snap's Q2 results mark a meaningful step forward in achieving the company's three priorities: strengthening community and engagement, accelerating and diversifying revenue growth, and building a more profitable, cash-generative core business. The numbers speak for themselves: monthly active users (MAU) grew to 971 million, daily active users reached 493 million, and revenue increased by 19% year over year to $1.6 billion.
Advertising revenue also showed impressive growth, up 9% to $1.28 billion, while other revenue skyrocketed by 85% to $316 million. Gross margin reached a healthy 58%, with net loss standing at $164 million and operating cash flow clocking in at $176 million. Adjusted EBITDA was a respectable $250 million, and free cash flow came in at $121 million.
Spotlight, Snap's video-sharing platform, continues to gain traction, with the number of people posting to Spotlight growing by more than 115% year over year in the U.S., while daily active users saw a similar increase. This growth was driven by investments in creators and AI-powered recommendations, further highlighting the company's commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to improve user experience.
The advertising business also showed improving momentum, with large advertisers in North America and international markets experiencing stronger revenue growth. World Cup-related spending contributed to the quarter's success, alongside continued strength among small and medium-sized businesses.
Smart Campaign solutions, Snap's suite of AI-powered automation and optimization tools, is making it easier for advertisers to achieve better outcomes with less manual work. As Evan Spiegel emphasized during the conference call, 'AI is helping us improve our service faster, deepening engagement, and improving outcomes for advertisers.'
The company's focus on developing a more profitable, cash-generative core business, while pursuing long-term opportunities like Specs, a new kind of computer built into see-through glasses, positions Snap Inc. well for future growth. With free cash flow per share serving as the primary financial objective going forward, investors can expect continued investment in long-term opportunities, offset dilution, and strengthened balance sheet.
As Snap Inc. continues to build on its Q2 2026 success, one thing is clear: the company's AI-enabled operating model will play a significant role in driving future growth and profitability.
