Tigo Energy Posts Strong Q3 Results Despite Market Challenges
Tigo Energy, a leading provider of solar and energy storage solutions, reported strong third-quarter results despite facing market challenges in Europe and slower-than-anticipated growth in its GO ESS business.
According to the company's CEO, Zvi Alon, Tigo delivered revenue of $24 million, within its guidance range, and achieved Adjusted EBITDA of $1.5 million, exceeding the high end of its guidance range of $0.5 million.
The company attributed its strong performance to a more gradual market recovery in Europe, where revenue declined 14.8% year-over-year due to reduced subsidies. However, Tigo's business in Poland and Spain grew significantly, with revenue increasing 41.2% and 103.2%, respectively.
Alon noted that the company is continuing its efforts to broaden market penetration through installer engagement and geographic expansion, citing its recent announcement highlighting GO Optimized ESS at the Smart Energy Forum in Prague as an example. This initiative aims to introduce Tigo's residential storage offering to existing networks and repeat sales will take time.
In the U.S., Tigo recognized approximately $0.8 million in revenue from shipments of its optimized inverter partners, a figure that is expected to exceed in the fourth quarter.
Bill Roeschlein, Tigo's CFO, highlighted three items that affected the company's reported results this quarter: a tariff refund related to prior periods, bad debt expense, and an income tax benefit. Adjusted EBITDA, including these items, came in at $1.5 million.
Tigo's strong Q3 performance reflects its resilience in the face of market challenges and its commitment to innovation and growth. As the company looks ahead to the fourth quarter, investors will be watching closely for signs of continued momentum.
The company's outlook remains positive, with Alon citing opportunities for growth in its MLPE business, the timing and anticipated benefits of its U.S.-optimized inverter program, and potential impacts of tariffs and regulatory actions. Tigo's strategy to grow its product portfolio and international business also holds promise for future success.
Tigo's Q3 results demonstrate the company's ability to navigate market challenges while continuing to innovate and grow. As the solar and energy storage markets continue to evolve, Tigo is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities.
