AEO Delivers Strong Q2 2027 Results: American Eagle and Aerie Continue to Drive Growth


American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) reported a strong second quarter in 2027, with revenue reaching $1.4 billion and comparable sales growth of 6%. The company's Executive Chairman and CEO, Jay Schottenstein, highlighted the progress made at American Eagle and the outstanding performance of Aerie during the quarter.

"The second quarter represented another important step forward for AEO," said Jay Schottenstein. "We built on the strength of our portfolio, making progress at American Eagle, while Aerie continued to deliver outstanding performance."

Aerie, which includes OFFLINE, delivered revenue growth of 25% and comparable sales grew 19%, reflecting the broad-based demand across categories and channels. The company remains confident in the long-term opportunity for Aerie and its ability to reach new customers.

At American Eagle, total revenue grew 1% with comps declining 1%, an improvement from the first quarter. AE Men's posted its fourth consecutive quarter of positive comps, seeing continued traction and relevance. While progress has been made, there remains work to do, according to Jay Schottenstein.

The company also announced the departure of Mike Mathias, Strategic Advisor, who will be taking on a more advisory role. Ravi Thanawala, Chief Financial Officer, expressed his excitement about joining the team and outlined his priorities, which include driving durable value creation by connecting brand growth with disciplined execution, stronger profitability, and thoughtful resource allocation.

"I am excited by the opportunity I see at AEO," said Ravi Thanawala. "I have been at AEO for just a few weeks, so I am spending a great deal of time listening, learning, and getting to know the business and our teams."
