Ambev Hits Halftime: Delivering Consistent Growth in Challenging Markets

Ambev, one of the world's leading brewers, has just reported its Q3 2026 earnings, showcasing remarkable consistency and growth amidst a challenging environment. In his opening remarks on the conference call, CEO Carlos Lisboa emphasized that the third quarter provides another important proof point in the company's journey to sustain performance throughout the year.

The numbers speak for themselves: total volumes grew 0.8%, net revenue jumped 7.6%, and normalized EBITDA increased 8.9% with a 40 basis points margin expansion, while normalized EPS soared 15.4%. This consistency becomes even clearer when looking at the first nine months of the year, with total volumes growing 0.7% and beer growth broadly in line with its historical rate over the past decade.

What's more impressive is that Ambev achieved this remarkable performance while continuing to invest behind growth, with market investment growing double digits organically in both the quarter and year to date. The company's CEO outlined a clear growth strategy based on three interconnected pillars: lead and grow the category, digitize and monetize their ecosystem, and optimize their business.

This growth formula is centered around delivering healthy volume growth, net revenue ahead of inflation, and disciplined conversion all the way to the bottom line. Lisboa highlighted that delivering consistent results requires Ambev to be ambidextrous, leveraging their unique footprint and leadership positions in emerging markets where beer is one of the most loved consumer categories.

With a presence mostly in emerging markets, Ambev's portfolio can absorb volatility in one market while benefiting from stronger momentum in another. In both the first quarter and year to date, LAS, CAC, and Canada delivered EBITDA growth ahead of net revenue with margin expansion despite different industry environments.

This quarter, LAS stood out on profitability despite a still soft consumer environment, delivering healthy volume growth with margin expansion. Similarly, Canada expanded EBITDA and market share despite a soft industry, showcasing the company's ability to adapt and thrive in diverse markets.

As Ambev continues its journey towards sustainable growth, investors should take note of their commitment to investing behind growth while delivering consistent results. The company's clear strategy and strong performance make them an exciting player to watch in the brewing industry.
