Bioceres Crop Solutions Reports Encouraging Fourth Quarter Results Amid Challenging Year

Bioceres Crop Solutions, a leading provider of crop input solutions, has reported an encouraging fourth quarter performance despite a challenging year marked by litigation and business disruptions.

Federico Trucco, Chief Executive Officer of Bioceres Crop Solutions, highlighted the progress made in the company's priorities to focus on core capabilities, reduce costs, and strengthen operating discipline. The results demonstrate a significant improvement from the previous quarter, with revenues from continuing operations remaining stable year-over-year.

The company's financial performance for the fourth quarter was presented by Ezequiel Simmermacher, Chief Financial Officer, who noted that revenues were $55.9 million, slightly above the prior year. The growth in revenue was driven primarily by a 36% increase in Crop Nutrition segment sales, led by strong microbeaded fertilizer performance.

Simmermacher also highlighted the adjusted EBITDA result, which showed a significant improvement from negative numbers in previous quarters to positive results in the current quarter. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the company's cost reduction initiatives and operating discipline improvements.

In terms of gross profit, while reported gross profit for the quarter was down 6% at $12.7 million, there were several factors contributing to this result. A non-recurring inventory adjustment related to obsolescence had a significant impact on reported numbers, masking improved profitability in certain product categories. Notably, Crop Nutrition's gross profit increased by 37%, led by microbeaded fertilizer, where both revenue and margins improved.

Bioceres Crop Solutions has demonstrated resilience and adaptability in the face of challenging circumstances, with its priorities focused on core capabilities, cost reduction, and operating discipline improvement. The company's progress in these areas is encouraging and suggests a strong foundation for future growth.

The company's leadership team will be available to answer questions following today's prepared remarks, providing investors and analysts an opportunity to delve deeper into the results and outlook.
