Blaize's Q2 2026 Earnings: A Shift in Market Dynamics and Increasing Momentum

Blaize Holdings recently reported its second quarter 2026 results, highlighting a significant shift in market dynamics and increasing momentum for the company. In a conference call, Dinakar Munagala, Chief Executive Officer of Blaize Holdings, addressed investors and analysts, providing insights into the company's performance and outlook.

One of the key highlights from the quarter was the reduction in revenue outlook for 2026. The full-year revenue is now expected to be between $40 million and $43 million. However, this number does not reflect the significant signed agreements that Blaize has secured, covering 2,000 servers worth approximately $70 million at current memory prices.

The CEO emphasized that several engagements have not converted into orders, including some where pilots were completed successfully. Additionally, other opportunities are still in progress and expected to close later than forecasted, while supply chain cost inflation, particularly with regards to memory pricing, has also impacted the company's expectations.

Despite these challenges, Blaize is seeing significant growth in its business, with the largest customer in China continuing to generate meaningful revenue. The company has also expanded into Europe with a purchase order for several thousand units and increased activity across the Asia Pacific region.

The CEO highlighted that the market has made up its mind this year, favoring efficient open models over those that focus on training large models. This shift in dynamics has led to value being placed on who can run AI most efficiently, rather than just who trains the largest model. Blaize's architecture was designed for this new reality, and the company is making real progress in the market.

The CEO also emphasized two converging market trends: physical AI and a new generation of AI data centers built to run AI, not just train it. These hybrid models are built on purpose and depend less on one vendor, highlighting the importance of software that schedules and tunes work. This is where Blaize sits in the market, positioning itself as a leader in this space.

The CEO concluded by emphasizing that renting out GPUs is no longer a sustainable business model, but rather applications and AI services are. Blaize's focus on providing software that schedules and tunes work makes it well-positioned for success in the emerging landscape of AI."
