Bridger Aerospace Soars to New Heights: Strong Demand Drives Growth Amid Record-Breaking Wildfires
As the second quarter of 2026 comes to a close, Bridger Aerospace is basking in the success of its efforts to combat one of the most intense wildfire seasons on record. With fire conditions accelerating throughout the quarter and above-normal activity across multiple regions of the West, the company's fleet, technology, and personnel have been put to the test.
"We're seeing that preparation translate into execution," said Sam Davis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bridger Aerospace, during the company's second-quarter earnings call. "Our long hours and diligence have paid off, and we're incredibly proud of the work our team has done so far."
One of the highlights from the quarter was the awarding of two 160-day task orders by the U.S. Forest Service to cover four of Bridger's Super Scoopers. These orders will activate on a staggered basis into October and November, reflecting the agency's anticipated need for wildfire suppression well into the fourth quarter.
These longer contract durations improve fleet utilization, provide greater operational visibility, and allow for better planning of maintenance and staffing. They also reflect a broader shift toward year-round wildfire preparedness among government partners.
In addition to these task orders, Bridger deployed its most advanced platform, the King Air 350, under a Department of the Interior task order. This aircraft incorporates dual sensor capability and real-time data dissemination into software, providing incident commanders with critical situational awareness that improves proactive decision-making throughout an incident.
Following the quarter, Bridger announced a $58 million contract with the Texas A&M Forest Service to acquire, modify, and deliver three King Air 360 multi-mission aircraft over the next three years. This contract represents a notable example of how Bridger's opportunity extends beyond simply operating aircraft into engineering, modification, and integrated intelligence work.
As fire conditions continue to accelerate, with more than five and a half million acres having burned across the U.S., Bridger remains committed to supporting firefighting efforts. "We expect demand for our services to remain strong through the remainder of the season," said Davis.
The company's collaboration with Avincis, Europe's leading provider of emergency aerial services, deploying two newest Super Scoopers in Portugal, is a testament to its global reach and ability to respond to emerging needs.
