Cerus Corporation Surpasses 24 Million Transfusible Doses Produced Worldwide, Demonstrates Solid Progress Across Growth, Innovation, and Financial Priorities

Cerus Corporation, a leading provider of blood safety solutions, has made significant strides in its mission to expand patient access to safe blood worldwide. During the second quarter of 2026, the company produced nearly 24 million transfusible doses globally, marking substantial progress towards its goal.

According to Vivek Jayaraman, Cerus' President and Chief Executive Officer, the company's focus on three core priorities - delivering sustainable double-digit growth, advancing innovation, and strengthening its financial foundation - has yielded solid results. The second quarter saw a 10% increase in worldwide product revenue compared to the same period last year, driven by strong performance from its U.S. IFC franchise and continued strength in its core business globally.

The North American market accounted for approximately two-thirds of second-quarter product revenue, with Cerus' INTERCEPT for platelets being the standard of care in both the United States and Canada. The company estimates that it has achieved a market penetration rate of around two-thirds in the U.S., presenting clear opportunities for continued share gain in the remaining one-third of the market.

A significant contributor to Cerus' growth is its collaboration with Blood Centers of America (BCA), which became effective at the beginning of 2026. BCA member blood centers now account for more than half of all blood product distributions nationwide, and Cerus has expanded education and awareness among these members regarding the benefits of pathogen inactivation. This has resulted in a meaningful increase in engagement and receptivity to its technology, leading to new customers for both its platelet and IFC businesses.

Cerus' commitment to advancing innovation is also evident, with a focus on delivering sustainable double-digit growth while strengthening its financial foundation. The company's recent debt refinancing has provided it with the necessary resources to continue investing in its business, positioning it for continued success in the future.

With these initiatives in place, Cerus is well-positioned to achieve its mission of expanding patient access to safe blood worldwide. The company's progress during the second quarter serves as a testament to its dedication to delivering innovative solutions and driving growth in a rapidly evolving market.
