Comfort Systems USA Sets New Records with 13.91 Per Share Earnings, Expands with Strategic Acquisitions

Courtesy of a strong third quarter performance, Comfort Systems USA has announced record earnings and significant growth milestones for the company. In a recent conference call, CEO Brian Lane expressed his gratitude to the teams across the country for delivering exceptional results for their customers.

In Q3 2026, Comfort Systems USA earned $13.91 per share, marking a $5.66 increase from the same period in the previous year. The company's mechanical business experienced an extraordinary surge in activity levels and profitability, while its electrical segment achieved spectacular organic revenue growth at high margins.

The construction division drove most of the results, with service revenue and profit growing by double-digit percentages. Comfort Systems USA also saw a significant increase in bookings, culminating in a new record-high backlog of $17.8 billion. This represents an eighth consecutive sequential backlog increase, solidifying the company's position as a leader in its industry.

The company further strengthened its presence through strategic acquisitions. On August 1st, Comfort Systems USA acquired Boys Electrical in Melbourne, Florida, and NeoPod, a modular company for the healthcare industry based in New Braunfels, Texas. These additions are expected to contribute over $100 million in annual revenue at good margins.

In recognition of its continued success, Comfort Systems USA increased its quarterly dividend by $0.10 to $1 per share. The company also announced the active purchase of shares during the quarter.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2026 and 2027, Comfort Systems USA expects ongoing growth and strong results, driven by solid bookings and sustained demand. CFO Bill George expressed confidence in the company's future prospects, stating that Comfort Systems USA would continue to have the best management team in its industry long after his retirement.

As part of a larger leadership transition, CFO Bill George announced his decision to retire from the company after 30 years of service. Julie Shaeff will take on the role as CFO, succeeding Bill and continuing the leadership transition process.
