Credo Shines in Q1 2027 Earnings Call: Record Revenue, Triple-Digit Growth, and a Strong Optical Business

Credo's first quarter fiscal 2027 earnings call was a resounding success, with the company reporting record revenue of $479 million, a 10% sequential increase and more than doubling year-over-year. This impressive growth is the result of seven consecutive quarters of triple-digit year-over-year growth, solidifying Credo's position as one of the few semiconductor companies to achieve such remarkable expansion.

The quarter was highlighted by significant gains in Credo's optical business, which continues to grow at an outsized pace. As AI infrastructure investment accelerates, cluster sizes increase, data rates move higher, and connectivity requirements become more challenging, Credo's expertise in delivering reliable, power-efficient solutions that address signal integrity, telemetry, and serviceability has positioned the company as a leader in this space.

Crypto-processor architecture is evolving, with AI systems becoming increasingly heterogeneous. This shift towards diversity means customers will choose the right technology to optimize their architecture, driving demand for Credo's comprehensive portfolio of connectivity solutions spanning optics and copper. At the heart of Credo's growth is its focus on helping customers bring clusters up faster, maximize processor utilization, and maintain reliable operation at scale.

The company's ability to innovate, execute, qualify, and deploy across a wide range of customer needs has created a significant differentiation for Credo. Its deep relationships with five hyperscalers have been a key factor in driving growth, particularly within the AEC business, where engagement with NeoCloud customers continues to expand.

AECs remain Credo's largest business, and penetration rates are increasing as deployment scales increase. The company is poised for further growth through the transition to 200 gig per lane, 1.6T ports ahead, which offers an additional vector of expansion. Credo's system-level approach has been fundamental to its differentiation since creating the category.

The company's non-GAAP gross margin was 68%, and non-GAAP net income exceeded $236 million, up 140% year-over-year. These numbers demonstrate Credo's ability to expand profitability while maintaining growth, a testament to its strong business model and execution.
