Crown Holdings Shatters Earnings Expectations with 16% Adjusted EPS Growth, Sets New Full-Year Guidance

Crown Holdings, a leading global supplier of packaging solutions to the beverage and food industries, has delivered a stellar second quarter performance, exceeding earnings per share expectations by 16%. The company's adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) reached $2.49 in Q2 2026, compared to $2.15 in the same period last year.

The strong results are driven by higher global beverage can shipments, which grew 5% during the quarter, and a favorable foreign currency translation effect. Net sales increased to $3.7 billion, representing a significant growth of 5% from Q2 2025. Segment income rose to $501 million, up from $476 million in the prior year quarter.

Speaking on the conference call, Crown Holdings' Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Clothier, highlighted the company's solid first-half performance and positive demand outlook. He noted that the business has been able to respond well to the ongoing Middle East crisis and related global economic headwinds, maintaining its high level of service quality.

The company also announced an increase in its full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance from $7.90-$8.30 to a new range of $8.30-$8.50. Furthermore, it expects third-quarter adjusted diluted EPS to be in the range of $2.20-$2.30.

Crown Holdings' capital allocation strategy remains a key component of its value creation approach. During Q2 2026, the company repurchased $305 million worth of shares and paid out $77 million in dividends, returning a total of $594 million to shareholders. This reflects the company's confidence in its outlook and commitment to disciplined capital allocation.

The company continues to invest in growth initiatives in key markets such as Brazil, Greece, Spain, and India. These investments are progressing on schedule, while maintaining a strong balance sheet. Crown Holdings' adjusted net leverage ratio at the end of Q2 2026 was approximately two-and-a-half times, an improvement from the first quarter and consistent with its long-term target.

According to Tim Donahue, President and Chief Executive Officer of Crown Holdings, the company's results reflect what consumers choose every day – beverages in aluminum cans. He noted that millions of consumers around the world made this choice throughout Q2 2026, reinforcing the strength of Crown Holdings' business and the appeal of the most sustainable beverage package.
