Delek US Holdings Delivers Strong Q3 Performance, Emphasizes Operational Flexibility and Long-Term Value Creation
Delek US Holdings, a leading energy company, has reported a landmark quarter with impressive financial performance. The company's strong operational execution and market acumen enabled it to navigate the volatility in crude and product markets caused by events in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Avigal Soreq, President and CEO of Delek US Holdings, expressed pride in the company's commitment to being a reliable community partner, providing essential fuel supply that supports everyday needs and economic activities. During the third quarter, Delek US Holdings successfully continued this mission despite market challenges.
The company achieved several significant milestones during Q3 2026. Firstly, it made further progress in increasing its free cash flow profile and raised its Enterprise Optimization Plan (EOP) improvement guidance to at least $250 million. This represents a substantial increase from the initial target of $100 million annual free cash flow improvement.
Avigal Soreq highlighted that Delek US Holdings has maintained its disciplined approach to capital allocation, evidenced by balance sheet improvement, dividend increases, and strong share buybacks. He emphasized that maintaining discipline is critical during periods of strong margins, enabling the company to create sustainable long-term shareholder value.
The Middle East and Eastern Europe events have created market challenges for several energy companies. However, Delek US Holdings has leveraged its access to pipeline-delivered inland crude, limited exposure to elevated freight costs, high distillate yield, and ability to quickly respond to changes in market conditions. These advantages provide operational flexibility and underpin the company's strong performance.
In refining, Delek US Holdings' system operated reliably, with all four refineries running well. The Big Spring refinery has shown strong operating performance since its turnaround, exceeding value creation targets for improved reliability, higher crude slate flexibility, increased product yield, higher octane, and blending capabilities.
Avigal Soreq expressed confidence in the Big Spring team's ability to further improve this important asset, stating that it is well-positioned to capture continued strength in crack spread with no planned turnaround for the remainder of the year.
The Enterprise Optimization Plan (EOP) has driven significant value, contributing approximately $60 million to Delek US Holdings' profit and loss during Q3 2026. The company has increased its EOP target to at least $250 million on an annual run rate basis.
Delek US Holdings' midstream business, DKL, has raised its 2026 EBITDA guidance to $530-$560 million, with plans to add another $60 million in EBITDA in 2027 from organic growth projects. This demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to long-term value creation and operational excellence.
