DMC Global Roars Back to Life: Strong Q3 Results Mark Significant Turnaround
DMC Global, a leading provider of precision products for energy, building, and industrial markets, has made a remarkable comeback in the third quarter of 2026. The company's consolidated sales soared by 14% compared to last year's third quarter, reaching $172.8 million, while reported EBITDA attributable to DMC jumped 59% to $13.6 million, excluding tariff refunds.
Jim O'Leary, President and CEO of DMC Global, expressed his satisfaction with the results during the company's conference call on October 27th, stating that "these results were driven by initiatives implemented over the past two years to improve the performance of our businesses, despite continued uncertainty and highly challenging end market conditions."
The turnaround was particularly pronounced in Arcadia, DMC Global's building products business. Sales at Arcadia surged by 25% year-over-year and 14% sequentially, while Adjusted EBITDA increased by 32% versus the year-ago quarter and 23% sequentially. This improvement was largely driven by higher sales of commercial aluminum framing products, high-end residential doors, and windows.
Arcadia's renewed focus on service levels and product availability in its short-cycle operations also contributed to the improved performance. Additionally, a large, prestigious long-cycle project in Los Angeles during the quarter helped boost Arcadia's results.
DynaEnergetics, DMC Global's energy products business, delivered improved third-quarter profitability despite relatively flat year-over-year and sequential sales. Adjusted EBITDA was $11.9 million during the quarter, which included $5.4 million of tariff refunds. Excluding these refunds, Adjusted EBITDA increased by 34% versus last year's third quarter and 57% sequentially.
The improvement at DynaEnergetics was driven by cost-saving initiatives and a favorable sales mix that reflects the company's ongoing market diversification efforts, with early contributions from the defense and enhanced geothermal sectors.
NobelClad, DMC Global's composite metals business, also saw significant growth in the third quarter. Sales increased by 38% year-over-year and 30% sequentially, while Adjusted EBITDA jumped 120% year-over-year and 51% sequentially. This improvement resulted from increased shipments related to a record petrochemical order and the resolution of supply chain issues that had delayed shipments on a large defense order.
Overall, DMC Global's third-quarter results demonstrate a strong turnaround in its financial performance, driven by the company's initiatives to improve business operations and adapt to challenging market conditions. The company's diversified portfolio of businesses has enabled it to capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities, positioning DMC Global for continued growth and success in the future."
