DXL Sets Course for Growth as Sales Continue to Improve

Destination XL Group Inc., the leading specialty retailer in men's big and tall, has reported a strong second quarter fiscal 2026 performance, reflecting progress towards its strategic initiatives. The company's interim CEO, Lionel Conacher, highlighted the momentum achieved during the period, attributing it to the efforts of employees under the leadership of outgoing CEO Harvey Kanter.

In his opening remarks, Conacher praised Kanter for his leadership and contributions over more than seven years as CEO. He emphasized the importance of serving the big and tall customer, which has enabled DXL to establish a differentiated leadership position in this underserved market.

Conacher outlined the company's priorities: increasing traffic and revenue, strengthening customer engagement, improving profitability, and advancing strategic initiatives that can support long-term growth. The second quarter earnings results reported by Peter Stratton, Chief Financial Officer, demonstrate progress towards these goals, with consistent sales performance compared to the first quarter and significant improvement over prior year's results.

DXL has also strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Jimmy Olsen as Chief Growth Officer. Olsen brings extensive experience in retail strategy, brand elevation, and scaling omni-channel platforms through marketing, merchandising, and product development. He joins the company after working in consulting roles for major retailers like Walmart and The Gap.

The new role of Chief Growth Officer represents a strategic shift towards leveraging customer-facing levers to drive growth. Olsen will spearhead initiatives focusing on traffic, assortment, promotion, and store experience to capitalize on opportunities ahead for DXL. This appointment is expected to play a crucial part in the company's progress towards its strategic objectives.

Conacher expressed excitement about the prospects ahead for DXL, stating that he is proud to discuss the momentum with stakeholders today. He emphasized that the resumption of sales growth is imminent and acknowledged that Q2 performance was consistent with the progress reported in Q1.
