Ecolab's Third Quarter Brings 7% Organic Sales Growth as Company Accelerates Growth Engines

Ecolab, a leading provider of water, hygiene, pest control, and digital solutions, has reported impressive results in its third quarter conference call. The company's core businesses have strengthened, with growth engines accelerating to drive 7% organic sales growth.

According to Christophe Beck, Ecolab's Chairman and CEO, the third quarter marked an inflection point for the company. 'Our core businesses strengthened, our growth engines accelerated, and together they drove 7% organic sales growth,' he said during the conference call.

Despite significant commodity cost inflation, Ecolab maintained organic gross margin, thanks to its teams' effective management of supply chain costs and creation of more value for customers through continued pricing execution. The company expects to continue offsetting the impact of higher commodity costs through disciplined supply chain management and productivity improvements.

The company's One Ecolab strategy has been instrumental in driving growth. By bringing together water, hygiene, pest, and digital solutions with field expertise, Ecolab delivers best-in-class performance for customers at scale. This integrated approach helps customers improve business outcomes and operational performance while using fewer resources, creating differentiated value and strengthening relationships.

The results are evident across various businesses. Food & Beverage accelerated to 8% organic growth, driven by broad-based growth in dairy, protein, and beverage against stable end market demand. The company's integrated water and hygiene solutions have helped protect food safety while improving operating performance and environmental impact.

Light Water also strengthened, accelerating to 5% growth, with the company winning in manufacturing and institutional markets through its end-to-end water management capabilities. Paper and heavy water returned to solid growth, driven by strong new wins and improved pricing that helped outperform stabilizing end markets.

Institutional and specialty performance remained consistent, despite industry trends getting tougher, including restaurant food traffic declining mid-single digits in North America. While Ecolab's results are encouraging, the company is not satisfied with its performance and believes it should be outperforming the industry by a wider margin and growing faster.

Overall, Ecolab's third quarter report highlights the company's commitment to delivering value for customers through its integrated solutions and strategic growth initiatives. With continued focus on productivity improvements and disciplined supply chain management, the company is well-positioned to drive future growth.
