Ferrovial's Strong Q2 Performance: North American Highways and Construction Business Shine

Ferrovial, a leading infrastructure company, recently reported its financial results for the first half of 2026. The company's strong performance was driven by its North American highways business, which saw outstanding revenue growth, as well as its construction business, which delivered revenue growth while maintaining its profitability target.

During the conference call to discuss the results, Ferrovial's CEO, Ignacio Madridejos, highlighted the company's success in North America. "Our North American highways business had a strong semester, driven by outstanding revenue growth," he said. "We're proud of our team's hard work and dedication to delivering high-quality services to our customers."

The construction business also performed well, with revenue growth and maintained profitability targets. Madridejos noted that the company's investment in Silvertown Tunnel in the UK and transmission lines in Chile were key contributors to cash inflows.

Ferrovial's airports business also saw progress, with New Terminal One at JFK submitting a completion remedial plan with March 2027 as the date for Phase A DBO. The company's cash position remained strong, with net cash of EUR 1.3 billion, excluding infrastructure projects.

Looking ahead to future developments, Ferrovial submitted bids for two new managed lanes projects in the US, the I-24 in Tennessee and the I-285 in Georgia. The company also bid on a highway availability project in the Czech Republic, which was noted as the most cost-effective option.

In terms of its main infrastructure assets, Ferrovial's 407 ETR saw revenue growth of 18.7% in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year. Toll revenue increased by 20.2%, driven by higher toll rates and targeted commercial promotions.

The company's managed lanes business in Dallas-Fort Worth also performed well, with traffic remaining strong despite some impact from construction works and less favorable weather conditions.

Overall, Ferrovial's Q2 performance was strong across its various businesses. The company's cash position remained robust, and it has a solid pipeline of future projects and developments to look forward to.
