**FirstEnergy Corp Delivers Strong Q3 2026 Earnings, Eyes Significant Growth Opportunities**

In a conference call held on October 28th, FirstEnergy Corp's Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Brian Tierney revealed the company's impressive performance in the third quarter of 2026. The strong earnings results reflect the company's focus on capital deployment, financial discipline, and improving customer experience.

According to Tierney, "We delivered another strong quarter and remain on track to meet our objectives for the year." He attributed this success to the team's hard work in executing against the company's plan to drive continuous improvement while focusing on affordability for customers. Furthermore, FirstEnergy has made significant progress advancing key regulatory strategies and business opportunities that will fundamentally change the trajectory of the company.

One of the notable growth areas is West Virginia, where pipeline demand has increased nearly six times to approximately 6 GW since year-end. The proposed Maidsville Energy Generating Facility is expected to be a crucial investment in supporting this demand. FirstEnergy has confidence in receiving an order from the West Virginia Public Service Commission in the fourth quarter and has reserved turbines with Siemens for delivery in 2030.

The company sees its Maidsville project as the first of a broader set of opportunities in West Virginia, driven by the state's constructive legislative and regulatory environment. This growth is also attributed to FirstEnergy's ability to meet large load customer demands. The company is currently negotiating with these customers about locations within their West Virginia service territory.

To support these large load customers, FirstEnergy has issued a request for proposal for an initial 3 GW of additional combined-cycle turbines. They expect to provide an update on this in early 2027. Additionally, the company is exploring innovative bridge power options and temporary behind-the-meter solutions as it builds out the grid to support these customers with permanent transmission and generation service.

This significant opportunity for FirstEnergy will not only support West Virginia's goals but also create meaningful value for shareholders. In addition to its growth in West Virginia, FirstEnergy remains committed to its transmission and distribution business. The company's transmission system sits at the heart of PJM, a region serving more than 65 million people.

As demand increases and economic development takes place within and around their service territory, the need for transmission investment has never been more important. FirstEnergy now has 7.9 GW of contracted data center demand across its footprint and is in active negotiations with approximately 4 GW of additional load. This demand will drive at least a 25% increase in their current $19 billion transmission investment plan when they release their updated five-year plan.

Overall, FirstEnergy Corp's strong Q3 2026 earnings reflect the company's commitment to growth and customer satisfaction. With significant opportunities on the horizon, particularly in West Virginia, the company is poised for further success.
