Inspire Medical Systems Sees Second Quarter Success with Revenue and Operating Income Ahead of Expectations

In a recent conference call to discuss their second quarter 2026 results, Inspire Medical Systems announced that they had delivered financial performance ahead of expectations. According to Tim Herbert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, the company was pleased with the progress they had made in navigating the evolving coding and reimbursement environment.

He noted that despite challenges early in the year, improved trends in key data points such as prior authorization submissions were being seen. Additionally, Inspire V coding and reimbursement education and support efforts to customers continued to show positive results. These efforts included providing clarity on appropriate codes for different payer groups, including commercial, Medicare Advantage, and government Medicare.

Herbert also highlighted the adoption of C-codes into the WISER system for six applicable states, which he believed would significantly reduce any uncertainty regarding the use of these codes for Inspire V procedures. Furthermore, he noted that most medical area contractors (MACs) do not require the use of a modifier 52 when billing CPT code 64582 for Inspire V procedures.

As a result of this success, Inspire Medical Systems is increasing its 2026 outlook for revenue, adjusted operating margin, and adjusted earnings per share. Matt Osberg, Chief Financial Officer, provided additional insights on the company's second quarter and full year financials during the call.

The company emphasized that their focus remains on delivering the highest possible patient outcomes through the use of Inspire therapy. Emerging data demonstrates long-term cardiovascular health associated with this treatment, which is a significant advantage for patients.

With this success, Inspire Medical Systems continues to be a leader in the medical field, demonstrating its ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and deliver strong financial performance despite these challenges.
