Kosmos Energy Delivers Strong Q2 2026 Performance, Sets Stage for Future Growth

Kosmos Energy, a leading energy company, has reported a strong second quarter (Q2) 2026 performance, achieving its four key objectives set at the start of the year. In a recent conference call, the company's Chairman and CEO, Andy Inglis, highlighted the progress made across all business units.

Speaking on the call, Inglis noted that the company had grown production from its core assets, including Jubilee and GTA, while delivering significant absolute and per BOE cost reductions year-on-year. The reduction in net debt is a notable achievement, with the company making good progress towards hitting a 20% reduction target.

One of the standout achievements is the performance of Jubilee, the company's highest margin production asset in Ghana. With two new producers coming online since the first quarter results were reported in May, Jubilee gross production is expected to exceed 90,000 barrels of oil per day. The final producer well of the campaign, J50, is set to start up soon.

Inglis emphasized that the performance of the latest wells supports the upper end of the full-year guidance for Jubilee, which remains unchanged at 70,000 to 80,000 barrels of oil per day. He highlighted the correlation between activity and performance in Ghana, stating that periods of drilling, high FPSO uptime, and sustained water injection have resulted in good field performance.

The company is working closely with operators to secure a rig for the 2027-2028 drilling campaign, aiming to start in mid-2027. This campaign will benefit from fully processed 4D and fast-track OBN seismic data, enabling refined and high-grade future well locations and maximizing reserve recovery.

Inglis concluded that it's an exciting time for Jubilee, with the asset performing strongly at a time of higher oil prices. The company is poised to deliver its debt reduction targets while setting the stage for future growth opportunities.
