Kosmos Energy Hits Stride in Q3 2026 with Strong Production Growth, Cost Reductions, and Debt Repayment

Kosmos Energy's Third Quarter 2026 Conference Call highlighted significant progress towards its four key objectives for the year. The company has made excellent strides against all of them, driven by strong year-on-year production growth from core assets Jubilee and GTA.

Chairman and CEO Andy Inglis noted that Jubilee gross production was 84,500 bbl of oil per day in the third quarter, an increase of around 17% versus the previous quarter. This reflects new wells that came online in late 2Q and during the third quarter. Specifically, the J50 producer well came online in August, and then the J73 water injection well completed the program.

Inglis emphasized the importance of operational delivery, particularly reservoir management in the periods between drilling campaigns, to deliver Jubilee's full production potential going forward. The company has also contracted the Faye Kozack rig from Noble for the 2027-2028 drilling campaign of up to 10 wells.

One of the key highlights of the quarter was Kosmos' delivery of significant absolute and per-barrel equivalent cost reductions year-on-year, with a specific focus on operating costs. This achievement demonstrates the company's commitment to optimizing its operations and reducing expenses.

Kosmos has also made progress in advancing its high-quality growth portfolio, particularly in the Gulf of America, with minimal capital input. The company expects to end the year with a more resilient and more valuable company, characterized by higher production, lower costs, and lower debt.

Chairman Inglis highlighted the importance of long-term investment and knowledge transfer in driving energy prosperity in Ghana, where Kosmos operates. He noted that if companies like Kosmos can help the country achieve this goal, both will benefit.

In its Q3 2026 earnings release, Kosmos reported progress against all four key objectives it set for itself at the start of the year. The company's Chairman and CEO, Andy Inglis, highlighted these achievements on the conference call, showcasing Kosmos' ability to drive growth while reducing costs and debt.

CEO Inglis also emphasized that delivering Jubilee's full production potential will require continued operational delivery and reservoir management in the periods between drilling campaigns. The company has made significant strides in this area, with a focus on sustaining water injection or voidage replacement above 120%, optimizing production systems, adding gas lift to the west side of Jubilee, and maintaining high FPSO uptime.

Kosmos Energy's Third Quarter 2026 Conference Call provided valuable insights into the company's progress towards its objectives. The company has demonstrated its ability to drive growth while reducing costs and debt, positioning itself for success in the year ahead.
