Krystal Biotech Delivers Strong Q2 Performance, Advances Pipeline and Commercial Growth
Krystal Biotech, a biotechnology company specializing in rare and serious diseases, has announced impressive results for its second quarter of 2026. In a recent conference call, the company's leadership highlighted significant progress across both commercial and clinical programs.
The key takeaway from Q2 is that Krystal Biotech made solid strides in executing on its strategy to drive growth and expansion. Internationally, demand remains high for VYJUVEK, the company's treatment for dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB). This has led to strong commercial momentum across Europe and Japan, with growth fueled by increasing physician familiarity, engagement from leading treatment centers, and sustained interest within the DEB community.

In the United States, the company's commercial performance continues to grow, supported by an increasing focus on reaching patients and physicians in community settings. Laurent Goux, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Europe, provided additional detail on the international launch progress, highlighting significant growth in treated patients and treatment volumes across key markets.
The clinical pipeline is also advancing at a rapid pace, with multiple important programs showing promising signs of development. Two registrational studies are currently underway: one for neurotrophic keratitis and another for ocular lesions in DEB patients. Repeat dose studies in cystic fibrosis and Hailey-Hailey disease are progressing, and assuming supportive data, both programs have the potential to advance into registrational development next year.
Krystal Biotech is also making great progress with its KB707 program in oncology. The company's inhaled 707 formulation for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is on track for a registrational study next year, and an intratumoral KB707 formulation is being evaluated in Gorlin syndrome, a rare skin indication that aligns well with the company's therapeutic focus and growing commercial footprint.

The company remains in a very strong financial position, reflecting both the growth of its commercial business and the operating discipline maintained over the past 12 quarters.
