Newsmax Delivers Record Revenue and Profitability in Q2 2026

The second quarter of 2026 has been a standout period for Newsmax, with the company delivering record revenue and profitability. In an earnings call held on August 13th, Chief Executive Officer Christopher Ruddy reported that revenue came in at a record $54.1 million, up 16.5% year-over-year.

"The story of the second quarter is simple," said Ruddy. "We did what we said we would do and more." This statement reflects Newsmax's commitment to strategic investment mode, which has paid off with impressive growth in key areas of their business.

Broadcast revenue rose 20.5% to $45.8 million, led by higher-margin affiliate fees and licensing. The company's multi-platform model is showing positive results, with the value creation opportunities being driven by the combined strength of broadcast, streaming, and social media presence.

The audience numbers also tell a compelling story. Total viewership rose again to 26.9 million, up 4% year-over-year. This represents Newsmax's highest second quarter reach in four years, with the company ranking fourth-highest rated cable news channel and second in engagement among adults 35-64.

"Our audience is highly loyal," said Ruddy. "That is one of the great strengths of the Newsmax brand." The way people find news is evolving, but neither are they. Newsmax maintains a strong presence on social media, with total followers climbing over 28% year-over-year to over 26 million.

The company's focus on AI content is also gaining momentum, with a multi-year partnership with Meta announced in the quarter. This will see Newsmax's journalism and reporting power AI answers across Meta's ecosystem, social, streaming, and AI platforms.

Newsmax's broadcast strength has been highlighted by Nielsen as the fastest-growing basic cable network since 2020, up more than 280% across key day parts. The company is well-positioned to maintain this presence in a shifting media landscape, with streaming continuing to be a strategic focus for growth and investment.

Newsmax's free streaming channel Newsmax2 is gaining ground on major platforms, with subscription revenue an area the company is building. International business is also booming, with expected international licensing fees of $16 million, a 344% increase from last year.
