Noble Corporation Surges Ahead with Strong Contract Awards and Resilient Performance in Q3 2026
Noble Corporation's third quarter 2026 earnings call has brought a plethora of exciting news, showcasing the company's unwavering commitment to excellence and adaptability in an ever-evolving industry. Led by President and CEO Robert Eifler, the conference call highlighted key highlights from the quarter, replete with substantial contract awards and impressive financial performance.
Adjusted EBITDA came in at $201 million, with free cash flow of negative $48 million. This reflects a 5% sequential decrease, primarily due to rigs transitioning between contracts. Notable among these was the BlackRhino, Discoverer, Venturer, and Globetrotter I, each experiencing fewer days on contract in Q3 compared to Q2.
However, these losses were largely offset by the resumed operation of two rigs in Brazil in July and the Gerry de Souza's contract start-up in August. Furthermore, the Voyager commenced its four-year contract with Shell in the U.S. Gulf in late September, a development that has been eagerly anticipated by industry watchers.
The company's major project startup queue is brimming with excitement, as the Valiant and Discoverer are scheduled to commence their long-term development campaign for TotalEnergies in Suriname right around the end of this year. Over the past three months, Noble Corporation has secured new contract awards totaling approximately $560 million.
Among these significant wins were four-well contracts with TotalEnergies in Nigeria and Tullow in Ghana, scheduled to commence within the next few weeks and mid-2027 respectively. The company's sixth-generation drillship, Globetrotter I, has been awarded a contract with TotalEnergies for light well intervention services under a three-year capacity reservation agreement.
The contract awards demonstrate Noble Corporation's prowess in securing high-value contracts in strategic locations worldwide. With its fleet of cutting-edge drilling rigs and expert team, the company is poised to capitalize on emerging opportunities and solidify its position as a leading player in the industry.
In light of these developments, Robert Eifler expressed enthusiasm for the company's prospects, stating, 'We are excited to now be underway with the Voyager.' His optimism is contagious, as Noble Corporation remains steadfast in its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and financial resilience.
