Prosperity Bancshares Surpasses $50 Billion in Assets, Increases Dividend by 6.7%
Prosperity Bancshares, a leading Texas-based bank holding company, has continued its impressive growth trajectory with the announcement of significant milestones in its third quarter 2026 earnings conference call.
The company's total assets have surpassed $50 billion for the first time, reaching $54.1 billion at September 30, 2026, a staggering increase of 41% compared to $38 billion at September 30, 2025. This growth is primarily attributed to three recent mergers that have brought in substantial assets and deposits.
"We are proud of this year's growth and would like to highlight the following results," said David Zalman, Senior Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Prosperity Bancshares. "Our loans totaled $32 billion at September 30, 2026, an increase of $10 billion or 45% compared with $22 billion at September 30, 2025."
As a result of this growth, the company's deposits also saw a significant increase, reaching $41 billion at September 30, 2026, up $13 billion or 48% compared to $27.8 billion at September 30, 2025.
In addition to these impressive numbers, Prosperity Bancshares has also increased its dividend by 6.7%, setting it at $0.64 per share for the fourth quarter of 2026. This decision reflects the company's continued confidence in its growth prospects and commitment to sharing its success with shareholders.
"The compound annual growth rate in dividends declared from 2003 to 2026 was 10.4%," Zalman noted, highlighting the bank's track record of dividend growth over the years.
With a strong capital position and increased scale, Prosperity Bancshares is well-positioned for future growth and expansion. The company remains focused on completing the operational integrations of Texas Partners Bank in November and Stellar Bank in March 2027, which are expected to deliver significant outcomes.
The success of these mergers has been impressive, with all American Bank locations now branded as Prosperity Bank, welcoming new customers and associates into the family. As the bank looks to the future, it is excited about its potential for growth and increased earnings.
