ReNew Energy Global, the leading renewable energy company, has announced its impressive results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. Despite the uncertain global macroeconomic situation and grid-related challenges in India, the company has delivered a 26% growth in its operating portfolio year-over-year.

In a recent conference call transcript, Sumant Sinha, the founder, chairman, and CEO of ReNew Energy Global, highlighted the company's commitment to executing at scale. He mentioned that the company has commissioned over one gigawatt to date in the current fiscal, which includes over 600 megawatts in Q1 itself.

This impressive performance is a testament to the company's disciplined approach towards capital allocation and its focus on delivering high returns. ReNew Energy Global has also executed its capital recycling plans, with the sale of 100 megawatt Tamil Nadu solar asset and the signing of definitive documents for the sale of over 1 gigawatt of assets.

The transactions underline the quality of the company's asset base and its ability to continuously find buyers and attractive valuations. Furthermore, ReNew Energy Global has a significant presence in manufacturing, with operational module and cell capacity of 6.5 gigawatts and 2.5 gigawatts, respectively.

The company's financial performance was also impressive, with adjusted EBITDA growth of around 12%, reaching INR 30.4 billion. The profit after tax increased by 16% year-over-year, with INR 6 billion for Q1 of fiscal 2027. Additionally, the company received INR 57 billion from the Andhra Pradesh DISCOM, taking its DSOs as of July end to 54 days.

ReNew Energy Global has also filed its Form 20-F for FY 2026 and published its third integrated report with the theme Beyond Boundaries: Decarbonising Value Chains to Deliver Climate Value at Scale. This report highlights the company's commitment to sustainability and its efforts to decarbonize value chains.

The proposed take-private transaction announced on August 11, 2026, is expected to be a significant development for the company. The consortium comprising of CPP Investments and Sumant Sinha has entered into a binding transaction agreement with ReNew Energy Global for the proposed take private of the company.
