Robert Half Hits Stride with Strong Q3 Results

In a conference call on October 22nd, Robert Half announced its quarterly earnings for the period ending September 30th. The company reported strong results, exceeding analyst expectations and marking a turning point in their revenue growth.

The global enterprise revenues stood at $1.359 billion, roughly flat with last year's adjusted basis. However, Talent Solutions returned to year-over-year revenue growth for the first time since 2022, with a 2% increase. This marked a significant milestone for the company, as they had been struggling to regain their footing in the market.

CEO M. Keith Waddell attributed the company's success to its unique combination of innovative technology, specialized expertise, and high-touch client service. He noted that hiring activity continues to improve, supported by gradually improving market conditions. Additionally, demand for risk and compliance consulting services showed encouraging signs of improvement during the quarter.

The company's net income per share was $0.49, a 14% increase from last year's third-quarter earnings. This marked the first year-over-year increase in quarterly earnings per share since 2022. Cash flow provided by operations during the quarter was $66 million, and the company distributed a $0.59 per-share cash dividend to shareholders.

Robert Half's return on invested capital for the quarter was 17%, highlighting their continued ability to generate strong returns for investors. CFO Mike Buckley noted that Contract Talent Solutions bill rates increased by 3.6% compared to last year, adjusted for changes in revenue mix and currency fluctuations.

The company's Protiviti segment reported $483 million in global revenues for the quarter, with $383 million coming from the United States and $100 million from outside the country. While this was a decline of 3% on an adjusted basis compared to last year, non-U.S. Protiviti revenues showed a 2% increase.

Robert Half's strong Q3 results are a testament to their commitment to innovation and client satisfaction. As they continue to navigate the evolving market landscape, investors will be watching closely for signs of sustained growth and profitability.
