On the defense side, RTX booked nearly $59 billion of awards, driven by significant multi-year production contracts for Tomahawk, AMRAAM, SM-6, and SM-3 IB. The company's collaboration with the Department of Defense on these contracts reinforces the need for its highly capable and proven systems, which will be a significant revenue driver over the next decade.
Commercial orders at RTX were also impressive, with over $22 billion in new orders in Q3, representing 60% year-over-year growth across both OE and aftermarket segments. Pratt announced significant GTF engine orders and commitments, including British Airways' selection of the GTF to power up to 63 aircraft.
In commercial aerospace, RTX continues to see positive trends with increasing OE production rates on key platforms, growing its installed base. The company's MRO demand remains strong, with engine retirements in line with expectations. Business aviation also shows strength, with global business jet departures up year-to-date.
On the defense side, RTX remains exceptionally well-positioned to meet growing demand given its proven capabilities, regional partnerships, and ability to produce at scale. The company's ongoing discussions with the Department of War give further confidence that key programs will remain funding priorities.
