Sabre Delivers Strong Q3 2026 Results Amidst Challenging External Environment

Despite a tough external environment, Sabre, a leading technology company in the travel industry, has delivered strong third quarter results that exceeded expectations. In its recent conference call, the company reported revenue growth of 3% year-over-year, while normalized adjusted EBITDA increased by 13% to $170 million.

The resilience of corporate travel and the continued strength of performance in the Americas were key highlights from the quarter. However, softer leisure travel in regions such as EMEA and Asia Pacific, combined with the impact of higher fuel prices and capacity reductions by airlines, created a headwind that affected air marketplace bookings, leading to a 1% decline.

According to Kurt Ekert, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sabre, these factors resulted in a combined 300-400 basis point headwind to air marketplace bookings growth in the third quarter. Nevertheless, absent this headwind, the company believes total marketplace bookings growth would have been in the mid-single digit range.

Interestingly, despite the challenges faced by the industry, Sabre has outperformed the airline industry volume and its competitors by approximately 400-500 basis points year to date through the third quarter. This demonstrates the strength of the company's competitive position and the progress being made against its growth strategies.

The external environment remains dynamic, with ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and uncertainty around fuel prices. However, Sabre is confident that its business will continue to perform well, driven by its successful execution against growth strategies and the delivery of revenue and adjusted EBITDA growth.

As Mike Randolfi, Chief Financial Officer, noted during the conference call, Sabre has raised its full-year 2026 guidance for both pro forma adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow while reaffirming its outlook for full-year revenue and air marketplace bookings growth. This reflects the company's confidence in its ability to build on momentum and capitalize on opportunities ahead.

The resilience of corporate travel, coupled with Sabre's progress against growth strategies, provides a solid foundation for future success. As Kurt Ekert noted, 'I am pleased with our progress and increasingly confident in our ability to build on this momentum as we execute against the many opportunities ahead.'
